SSH Login via PuTTY
Step-by-step guide to connecting to your ZetrikCloud VPS from Windows using PuTTY.
Download and install PuTTY
Download PuTTY from the official site and install it on your Windows machine. It's a free SSH and telnet client.
Get your VPS IP address and root password
Log in to your ZetrikCloud dashboard and open your VPS details page. Copy the IP address — you'll also find your root password here or in the welcome email sent at provisioning.
Open PuTTY and enter connection details
Launch PuTTY. In the Host Name (or IP address) field, enter your VPS IP. Set Port to 22 and Connection type to SSH.
Click Open and accept the security alert
Click Open at the bottom of the window. On first connection, PuTTY will show a security alert about the server's host key — click Accept to continue.
Log in with your credentials
At the terminal prompt, type your username (usually root) and press Enter, then enter your password. Note that the password won't appear as you type — this is normal Linux terminal behavior.
# Example login prompt login as: root root@203.0.113.45's password: (hidden while typing) # Once connected, you'll see the shell prompt root@vps-server:~#
You can save your session in PuTTY (enter a name under "Saved Sessions" and click Save) so you don't have to re-enter the IP every time you connect.
Never share your VPS root password or IP with anyone. Change the default password immediately after your first login.
